Michael Graubart is an accomplished singer-songwriter, and he is about to release his first CD of songs written about the inner experience of becoming and staying clean and sober.
There are plenty of songs by musicians who have gotten sober, like the country song, The Whiskey Ain’t Working Anymore.
But there are few very songs that write about the specific experience of struggling with early sobriety, being sponsored, witnessing the death of a sponsee to addiction, making amends, and the other things people who are clean and sober have to cope with.
I’ve written my own CD, Sober Songs: Volume 1, telling a dozen stories about the situations that people in 12 step recovery face every day. The first two songs will out in early March.
The CD will be featured at Hazelden Hazelfest on August 5th on the Hazelden campus in Center City, Minnesota.
I look forward to meeting you there!
